The Forest Wedding Venue Location: The North Woods
In 1920, the area we now call the North Woods was cleared, initially serving as home to the Groskreutz Family's bee hives. Joel’s grandfather, Louis, was a young boy who loved the bees. Through the generations, the trees flourished, forming a striking dome-shaped canopy. Fast-forward to 2021, and we proudly unveiled the North Woods as one of our wedding venues. Since then, it quickly became a favorite spot for JR’s Barn couples to exchange vows.
The North Woods is like your private hideaway, tucked away from the rest of the farm. In the summertime, the dense foliage blocks any view of the surrounding farm, creating a secluded atmosphere. It's just a short walk from the main barn, but many people find it feels like stepping into nature for the first time, away from the sights and sounds of the city.
