April 2018 in Minnesota. The month can be cold and snowing, pouring rain or be absolutely gorgeous. When it comes to planning and having a beautiful wedding, April’s unpredictability is tricky!
As you may have realized by reading our blogs, Jesus is ever present in our lives. He directs us and provides in ways we would never see coming. It is natural for us to pray for all the couples who share their day with us. Chad and Shannon were planning to get married in April since Chad is a farmer and it was the best month for them to get married. For this couple in particular, we prayed even more over the weather. We have learned over time not to pray for a certain kind of weather. Clouds and a slight breeze can be a blessing as guests wait in anticipation for the bride. Instead of praying for sunshine we pray for ideal weather. Little did we know that April 14th, the date they had been planning on getting married, would not be advantageous to the event.
The Monday before their chosen date there were rumors of a snow storm. When Shannon and Chad came out for the last walk through of the venue and to discuss final details, they voiced their concern about their guests traveling in the possible storm. The Thursday before the wedding, after much conversation, they pushed it back to April 21st. It was good they did because on April 14th we got 13 inch of snow! There was snow everywhere! All their guests were accepting and thankful of the change in dates.
This beautiful couple was the first to get married on the lower level. They decided they loved the upstairs of the barn so much that they wanted to spend the majority of their wedding day in it so they and their guests could enjoy the peaceful atmosphere. As the 21st approached, the anticipation began to build. Chad surprised us when he showed up with all the decorations. He said that he had planned and purchased all of them himself! By the end of the day he had the barn looking like an elegant ballroom for his beautiful fiancé! We were so blessed to see the love and servant’s heart that Chad had for his new wife.
The day finally arrived and it was beautiful! The snow had melted, the flowers were set, the last minute details were taken care of. Everyone was warm and had a great time. Most importantly, Miss Shannon was about to be married to her forever husband, Mr. Chad Hoechst!
It was so wonderful to see them joined together, surrounded with loved ones, in such a peaceful, calm place. Thank you Mr. and Mrs. Chad and Shannon Hoechst, for allowing us to host your day! What a privilege it was!
