Introducing a New Ceremony Location!

As the new season begins, we have some wild plans in the making! The time has now come to share with you what we are adding this year! But instead of just telling you right away, we are going to share the history and significance of it first.

Be sure to go back and learn the full history of our historical farm in previous blog posts.

We are a 4th generation farm that has transitioned from a full farm, to just having hogs, to now a barn wedding venue and farm wedding venue! Back when it was a full farm that had horses, chickens, goats and more we also had bees. Great great Grandpa Otto had rented the woods area of the property to a man who grew bees and harvested the honey. The woods was a great area for this as it was blocked from the wind and yet easily accessible. They had to clear out a cove-like area in the woods to make room for the hives and all the equipment. It was an amazing set up and a great deal for Great Great Grandpa Otto because they then got fresh honey.

When the time had come to pass on the farm to Great Grandpa Louis, the beekeeper eventually moved his beehives to a different location. So the space in the woods sat empty. Louis made the barn into a place to raise hogs and cows so that became the main focus of the farm.

When Grandpa Alvin took over the farm, he saw the cove in the woods as a place to relax and hang out. So Grandpa and Joel made paths out to the cove and named it “The Park.” It became the hang out spot for bonfires, parties, and even worship nights!

When Joel and Renae moved to the farm, they continued having the park be a hang out spot for parties and relaxing. Then 4 years ago they developed the barn and the whole yard into the beautiful venue we know it as today.

The Big Announcement: A New Ceremony Location in the Woods!

It is now time for the woods to become a part of our venue space! We are adding a new ceremony location in the woods!

It will be a short walk north of the barn. As you stroll down the path with strong tall trees on both sides, smelling that fresh air that comes only from being in the woods, hearing the birds chirping, and then looking up to the towering trees that make you feel like you are in a whimsical cave. It truly makes you forget where you are and evokes a sense of peace and calmness that is so captivating.

We are adding this new location not only because it is beautiful but also because we know some couples truly want to be fully surrounded by woods and nature. Along with our other locations, couples can now have a fully wooded relaxing area to have their ceremony.

Follow our journey of developing the woods! We will be posting pictures on our website, Facebook, and Instagram.
